Mary was born on March 1st, 1857 in Audlem.1  Mary's father was Henry Brereton and her mother was Elizabeth Ellerton.  Her paternal grandparents were George Brereton and Sarah Fearns. She had four brothers and four sisters, named George, Edwin, (William), John, Sarah, Jane, Emily and Eliza.  She died at the age of 46 on January 5th, 1904 in Shropshire.
