John was born in February 1861 in Audlem.¹

Birth Notes

John's father was Henry Brereton and his mother was Elizabeth Ellerton. His paternal grandparents were George Brereton and Sarah Fearns. He had three brothers and five sisters, named George, Edwin, (William), Sarah, Mary, Jane, Emily and Eliza. He died at the age of 15 in November 1876 in Audlem. He was buried on November 16th, 1876 in Audlem.²
