Mary was born in 1771 in Acton by Nantwich and her baptism took place there on April 21st, 1771.¹

Birth Notes

Mary's father was John Brereton Snr and her mother was Anne (Hannah) Huxley. Her paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Maria (Mary) Blackmore. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Randle, Mary, Elizabeth, Mary and Sally. She was the fourth oldest of the seven known children.
