James Whitlaw Brereton 
James was born in 1845 in Runcorn.1 James' father was Ralph Brereton and his mother was Margaret Whitlow. His paternal grandparents were Ralph Brereton and Alice Owen. He had two sisters named Mary and Jane. He was the youngest of the three known children.
