Ann was born in June 1811 in Hurleston and her baptism took place on June 9th, 1811 in Acton by Nantwich.1  Ann's father was Randle Brereton and her mother was Elizabeth Sadler.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Brereton and Hannah Vicars. She had four brothers and six sisters, named George, Joseph, James, James, Ann, Hannah, Sarah, Martha, Mary and Jane.  She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.
