Robert was born in February 1755 and his baptism took place on February 21st, 1755 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Robert's father was Robert Bolton Esq and his mother was Esther Nield. He had a brother and four sisters, named Isaac, Catherine, Esther, Mary and Dorothy.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 47 on September 14th, 1802.
