Mary's father was Robert Bolton Esq and her mother was Esther Nield. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Isaac, Catherine, Esther and Dorothy.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 5 in November 1770 in Bolton.  She was buried on November 10th, 1770 in Bolton.²
