Martha was born on December 4th, 1808 in Wepre and her baptism took place on January 8th, 1809 in Northop.1 2  Martha's father was Henry Bennett and her mother was Eleanor (Elinor) Coppack.  Her paternal grandparents were William Bennett and Anne. She had six brothers and two sisters, named William, Henry, Benjamin, Samuel, Charles, James, Mary and Ann.  She was the fourth youngest of the nine known children.

‌Martha and Humphrey were married in a religious ceremony on February 6th, 1828 in Connah's Quay.2   They had two sons and a daughter, named Humphrey, Hugh and Ann.  There are possibly more children.
