Benjamin's father was Henry Bennett and his mother was Eleanor (Elinor) Coppack.  His paternal grandparents were William Bennett and Anne. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Henry, Samuel, Charles, James, Mary, Ann and Martha.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine known children.
