Leah's father was Samuel Bennett and her mother was Martha Magdalene Fuhrmaster. Her paternal grandparents were Cap John Bennett and Jane Roberts. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Samuel, John, Joseph, Jane, Mary, Martha, Josephine, Ida, Rachel and Artie. She was the nineth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 99 on December 31st, 1991 in Millard.²
