Fredrick was born on October 7th, 1908.  Fredrick's father was Jacobus (Klein Koos) Corneli(u)s Martens and his mother is Maria Francina Scheepers.  His paternal grandparents were Cornelius (Basheesa) Jacobus Martens and Victoria Liversage. He had two brothers and a sister, named Cornelis (Neils), Johannes and Helena.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 76 on March 26th, 1985.
