Reuben was born on March 16th, 1784. Reuben's father was Daniel Dye and his mother was Abigail Hutchinson. His paternal grandparents were Vincent Dye and Sarah Artepe. He had six brothers and a sister, named Vincent, Daniel, William, Enoch, David, John and Elizabeth. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 90 in 1874.
