Daniel Dye
Daniel was born on July 31st, 1745. Daniel's father was
Vincent Dye and his mother was
Sarah Artepe. His paternal grandparents were
John Laurens Dey and
Ann Brown. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named

David,
Rachael,
Reuben/Ruben,
Dussoway,
Joseph,
William,
Uenice,
Sara,
Nancy and
Catherine "Caty". He was the oldest of the fifteen children. He died at the age of 79 on January 24th, 1825.
Death Notes
Born July 31, 1747 in Middlesex County, New Jersey and died January 24, 1825 in Monroe County, Ohio. He married Abigail Hutchinson on March 24, 1773 in New Jersey. In 1813 he became the first permanent white settler in Monroe County, Ohio.
Misc: Daniel and Abigail moved to Monroe Co. OH about 1797 from VA. They freed their slaves before coming to OH, but 2 slaves (Jerry and Randell) insisted on coming with them. Abigail’s name is spelled Hitchinson on the marriage records.
Military: Served as a Private in NJ in the Revolutionary War.
