Rose was born in 1882.  Rose's father was Henry Gilson and her mother was Louisa.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Gilson and Eliza. She had a brother and eight sisters, named James, Louisa, Annie, Mabel, Ellen, Hilda, Ada, Jessie and Florence.  She was the third oldest of the ten children.  She died from cancer at the age of 70 on April 24th, 1952.
