Joannes  was born on October 3rd, 1575 in Antwerp.1 2   His godfather was Jan De Rector  and his godmother was Betteke Broers. Joannes 's father was Adriaen BROERS  and his mother was  Maria Van de Poter (Maeyken).  His paternal grandparents were Joannes  BROERS  and Elisabeth Van Haecht . He had three brothers and three sisters, named Adrianus , Michael , Nicolaus , Elisabeth , Sara  and Elisabeth .  He was the oldest of the seven children.
