Aagje was born in December 1753 in Oosthuizen. Aagje's father was Claas Melisz Spaans and her mother was Maartje Sijmons Paauw / Pauw.  Her paternal grandfather was Melis Spaans; her maternal grandfather was Sijmens Paauw. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Melis, Sijmen, Jan, Cornelis, Cornelis, Sijmen, Sijmen, Vrouwtje  and Aagje.  She was the third oldest of the ten children.  She died before 1766.
