Arthur Edward MATTHEWS

Arthur was born on May 30th, 1874 in Woodville, Adelaide, SA.¹   Arthur's father was Henry Thomas James MATTHEWS and his mother was Caroline FLEET.  His paternal grandparents were Henry MATTHEWS and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Thomas FLEET and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Samuel, James, Arthur, Herbert, Margaret, Typhena, Diolinda, Elizabeth, Clara, Amelia and Letitie.  He was the fourth youngest of the twelve children.
