Thomas Parsons was born in 1825 in Midsomer Norton, Somerset, England.  Thomas Parsons' father was William Whiting and his mother was Mary Parsons.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas Parsons and Betty Harris. He had a brother and three sisters, named Thomas Parsons, Mary, Elizabeth and Ann Parrsons.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 10 in 1835.
