Thomas was born on January 2nd, 1786 in Markinch, Fife, Scotland. Thomas' father was George Low and his mother was Christian Russell. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Low and Margaret Bouer; his maternal grandparents were John Russell and Catherine Dryburgh . He had three brothers and five sisters, named George, Robert, George, Margaret, Agnes, Magdalene, Christian and Margaret. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Andrew, George, Helen, Mary and Janet. He died in 1786 in Markinch, Fife, Scotland.-
