Janet's father was George Low and her mother was Helen Bell (Smith ?).  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Low and Margaret Bouer. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Andrew, George, Helen and Mary. She had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Thomas, George, Robert, George, Margaret, Agnes, Magdalene, Christian and Margaret.  She died at the age of 80 in 1914.
