William Lees 
William was born about 1708 in Elginhaugh, Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland and his baptism took place there on February 15th, 1708. William's father was John Lees and his mother was Isabell Barrowman. His maternal grandparents were John Barrowman and Janet Gray. He had four brothers and three sisters, named James, John, William, George, Janet, Isobel and Helen. He was the third youngest of the eight children.-
