James Lees 
James was born in 1698 in Elginhaugh, Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland and his baptism took place there on April 3rd, 1698. James' father was John Lees and his mother was Isabell Barrowman. His maternal grandparents were John Barrowman and Janet Gray. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, William, William, George, Janet, Isobel and Helen. He was the second oldest of the eight children.-
