James Girdlestone 
James was born on June 12th, 1826 in Kelling, Norfolk, England and his baptism took place there on June 25th, 1826. James' father was Rev William Ewin Girdlestone and his mother was Mariane Unknown. His paternal grandparents were Rev William Girdlestone and Elizabeth Jessop Ewin. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Charles Osbourne, James, Henry John, Charles William, Francis Paddon, Elizabeth and Emily Bradfield. He was the third youngest of the eight children.-
