John Beath

John was born on August 11th, 1823 in Catsburn House, Greenock, Renfrew, Scotland.

Birth Notes

John's father was David Beath and his mother was Jane (Jean) Maitland. His paternal grandparents were David Beath and Jean Durie; his maternal grandparents were Robert Maitland and Elizabeth Mochry. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Robert Maitland, Alexander, George Bailas, George, James, Elisabeth and Jane. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Hugh Gavin, David Alexander and Eliza Park. He died at the age of 38 on November 29th, 1861.
