David Alexander was born on January 10th, 1810 in Ayr, Ayreshire, Scotland. David Alexander's father was David Beath and his mother was Barbara Douglas Park. His paternal grandparents were David Beath and Jean Durie. He had a brother and a sister, named Hugh Gavin and Eliza Park. He was the youngest of the three children. He had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Robert Maitland, Alexander, John, George Bailas, George, James, Elisabeth and Jane. He died at the age of 73 on July 21st, 1883 in Hamilton, Victoria, Australia.
