Ethel was born on March 18th, 1907 in Hammondville, Bullskin township, Fayette County,  Pennsylvania, USA.1   Ethel's father was Charles Sumner Hebenthal and her mother was Margaret Hart (Hebenthal).  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Hebenthal and Elizabeth B Slonecker (Hebenthal); her maternal grandparents were Henry D Hart and Nancy Calhoun (Hart). She had six brothers and three sisters, named Russell, Harry, Edward, George, Elmer, Charles, Evalyn, Lillian and Hazel.  She was the nineth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 74 in July 1981 in Ambridge, Pennsylvania, USA.1

Ethel and Perry were married in a religious & civil ceremony on January 7th, 1927 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA.1   They had four sons and a daughter, named Perry, Kenneth, Glenn, Jason and Lois.
