William Knowles 
William was born in 1833 in Chester Le St, Co Durham.1 William's father was Archibald Knowles and his mother was Ann Hope. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Archibald, Peter, Robert, Thomas, Barbara, Mary, Jane, Margaret and Ann. He was the third youngest of the ten children.-
