Elizabeth was born in 1828 in Leeds, Yorkshire and her christening took place on May 25th, 1828 at St Peters Parish Church, Leeds, Yorkshire.¹ Elizabeth's father was Joseph Booth and her mother was Elizabeth Hargrave. She had a brother and six sisters, named James, Sarah, Ann, Harriet, Martha, Eliza and Mary. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
