John Barnfather

John was born in 1774 in Lanercost, Cumberland and his baptism took place there on July 28th, 1774. John's father was John Barnfather and his mother was Jane Rowntree. His paternal grandparents were William Barnfather and Mary Tallantyre; his maternal grandparents were James Rowntree and Margaret Armstrong. He had six sisters named Betty, Jane, Isabel, Nancy, Sarah and Barbara. He was the oldest of the seven children.
