Jane Barnfather

Jane was born in 1778 in Lanercost, Cumberland and her baptism took place there on May 29th, 1778. Jane's father was John Barnfather and her mother was Jane Rowntree. Her paternal grandparents were William Barnfather and Mary Tallantyre; her maternal grandparents were James Rowntree and Margaret Armstrong. She had a brother and five sisters, named John, Betty, Isabel, Nancy, Sarah and Barbara. She was the third oldest of the seven children.
