William was born in 1871 in Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire.  William's father was Thomas MOSELEY and his mother was Hannah BRITTEN. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Walter, Arthur, John, Sidney, Joe, Elizabeth, Ellen, Ada, Jessie and Minnie.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 27 in 1898 in Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire.
