Elizabeth was born in 1872 in Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire. Elizabeth's father was Thomas MOSELEY and her mother was Hannah BRITTEN. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, Walter, Arthur, John, Sidney, Joe, Ellen, Ada, Jessie and Minnie.  She was the third oldest of the twelve children.
