George was born on August 16th, 1902 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire and his baptism took place there on September 3rd, 1902.1 2  George's father was William George LENTON and his mother was Lillie HALL.  His paternal grandparents were George LENTON and Caroline WILKINSON; his maternal grandparents were George HALL and Margaret Crowley SHILTON. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Cyril, Un-named, John, Albert, William, Walter, Wilfred, Cecil, Priscilla, Annie and Edith.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 72 in 1974 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.2
