Robert was born in 1312.  Robert's father was Robert de Holland and his mother was Maud De La Zouche.  His paternal grandparents were Sir Robert de Holland and Elizabeth de Samlesbury. He had four brothers and eight sisters, named Thomas, Otho, John, Alan, Joane, Margery, Maud, Elizabeth, Margaret, Jane, Eleanor and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 60 on March 16th, 1372.
