Elizabeth was born in 1328.  Elizabeth's father was Robert de Holland and her mother was Maud De La Zouche.  Her paternal grandparents were Sir Robert de Holland and Elizabeth de Samlesbury. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Robert, Thomas, Otho, John, Alan, Joane, Margery, Maud, Elizabeth, Margaret, Jane and Eleanor.  She was the youngest of the thirteen children.
