Marie was born on January 4th, 1812.  Marie's father was Edward Bourgeois and her mother was Madgeleine Mire.  Her paternal grandparents were Jean Bourgeois and Ludivine Granger; her maternal grandparents were Joachim  (Bénoni) dit Bénoni Lemire and Madeleine Melançon. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Edouard, Jean, Jean, ?, Eudalie, Marie, Marie, Marie, Magdelaine, Marguerite and Emilie.  She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 40 on June 28th, 1852.
