Emilie was born on May 20th, 1827.  Emilie's father was Edward Bourgeois and her mother was Madgeleine Mire.  Her paternal grandparents were Jean Bourgeois and Ludivine Granger; her maternal grandparents were Joachim  (Bénoni) dit Bénoni Lemire and Madeleine Melançon. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Edouard, Jean, Jean, ?, Eudalie, Marie, Marie, Marie, Marie, Magdelaine and Marguerite.  She was the eleventh oldest of the twelve children.  She died at just 23 days old on June 12th, 1827.
