William Hardie

William was born in 1835. William's father was William Hardie and his mother was Elizabeth Allardice. His paternal grandparents were James Hardie and Christian Thomson; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Allardice and Jean Whanell. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Evan, Alexander , George, Leonard, Jonathon, Betsy, Agnes and Eliza. He was the oldest of the nine children.
