Leonard Gow Hardie 
Leonard was born in 1842 in Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland and his baptism took place there on August 4th, 1844.1 2 Leonard's father was William Hardie and his mother was Elizabeth Allardice. His paternal grandparents were James Hardie and Christian Thomson; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Allardice and Jean Whanell. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Evan, Alexander , George, Jonathon, Betsy, Agnes and Eliza. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 90 on September 27th, 1932 in Dunedin NZ.3 -
