Marion was born on January 8th, 1857 in Blytheswood, Glasgow, Scotland. Marion's father was John Gibson and her mother was Agnes Douglas Young. Her paternal grandparents were Robert James Gibson and Margaret Murdoch; her maternal grandparents were James Young and Georgina Orrack. She had four brothers and a sister, named John, Robert, Murdoch, George and Agnes. She was the youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 85 on March 13th, 1942 in Timaru, NZ. She was buried on March 14th, 1942 in Hackett Cemetery, Christchurch..-
