Henry (Sir) "Harry" was born in 1423 in St. Donants, West Glamorgan, Wales. Henry (Sir) "Harry"'s father was Edward (Sir) Stradling and his mother was Joan De Beaufort. His paternal grandparents were Sir William Stradling and Isabel Saint Barbe; his maternal grandfather was Sir Edmund Plantagenet, 1st Duke Somerset Debeaufort. He had three brothers and a sister, named James Ii of, John Atholl, James Buchan and Joan of. He was the oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother named William.
