Alice was born about 1350 in Arundel Castle, Sussex, England. Alice's father was Richard 'Copped Hat' (Earl of Arundel) Fitzalan and her mother was Eleanor of Woodstock Plantagenet. Her maternal grandparents were Edward Ii King of England and Isobella (Queen Consort) of France. She had a sister named Joan. She was the older of the two children. She was the daughter of Richard FitzAlan, 10th Earl of Arundel and Lady Eleanor Plantagenet.
She married Thomas de Holand, 2nd Earl of Kent, son of Thomas de Holand, 1st Earl of Kent and Joan of Kent, Countess of Kent, on 10 April 1364.
She died on 17 March 1416.
