Joan of was born in 1428 in Perth, Perthshire, , Scotland.1 Joan of's father was Edward (Sir) Stradling and her mother was Joan De Beaufort. Her paternal grandparents were Sir William Stradling and Isabel Saint Barbe; her maternal grandfather was Sir Edmund Plantagenet, 1st Duke Somerset Debeaufort. She had four brothers named Henry (Sir) "Harry", James Ii of, John Atholl and James Buchan. She was the second oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother named William. She died at the age of 58 in 1486 in Morton Castle, , Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.1 -
