John was born in 1256 in Segrave, Leicestershire, England.1 John's father was Sir Nicholaus de Segrave 1st Baron of Segrave and his mother was Maud De Lacie. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Segrave and Anabil de Chaucombe; his maternal grandparents were Earl of Lincoln John (The Surety) De Lacy and Margaret De Quincy. He had a sister named Eleanor. He was the older of the two children. He had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Red Earl, Thomas, Bogo, Piers, Isabel, Margaret and Eglentine. He died at the age of 69 on October 4th, 1325. He was buried in Chacombe Priory, Northamptonshire, England.2 1 -
