Sir William de Ferrers IV (de Ferreres) 
William was born in 1240 in Groby, Leicestershire, England.1 William's father was William de Ferrers and his mother was Margaret de Quincy. His paternal grandparents were William de Ferrers II and Agnes de Meschines; his maternal grandparents were Roger de Quincy and Helen MacDonald of Galloway. He had a brother and two sisters, named Robert, Elizabeth and Joan. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had seven half-sisters named Joan, Sibyl, Isabel, Agnes, Maud, Joan and Agatha. He died at the age of 47 on December 20th, 1287.2 General Notes
He obtained, by gift of Margaret, his mother, the manor of Groby in Leicestershire, assuming the arms of the family of De Quincy.
