Macy B. was born in 1901 in Person Co, NC and her baptism took place in Census 1910. Macy B.'s father was James William Whitfield and her mother was Katherine Lewis Hicks. Her maternal grandparents were David Alfred Hicks and Sarah Ann Rhew. She had four brothers and two sisters, named George David, James W., Jasper Lorenzel, William Dolphin, Sarah A. and Fannie S..
