Samuel Roberts 
Samuel was born on September 9th, 1812 in Rockingham Co, NC.1 Samuel's father was Martin Roberts and his mother was Elizabeth Gilliland. His paternal grandparents were Naman Roberts and Mary A. G. Unknown. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John G., James Ellis, William, Martin Pinckey, Robert J., Sarah and Elizabeth. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 79 on November 27th, 1891.1 General Notes
