A R was born in 1822 in Barren, Kentucky, United States. A R's father was Bartlett Foster and his mother was Susanna Higdon. His paternal grandparents were James Parish Foster and Martha (Patsy) HUMPHREY. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Joseph H, James Ward, Holeman Rice, Elmore P, Elizabeth Ann, Mary Jane and Susan P. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 90 in 1912.-
