Louisa M. was born in 1818.1   Louisa M.'s father was John Vanlaw and her mother was Sarah Sharp.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Vanlaw and Mary Craft. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Jeptha S., Elisha, John, Samuel C., Mary, Lydia Sharp, Lucinda and Eliza.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jesse, Thomas and Ann S..1
