Light Stapleton Townsend

Light Stapleton was born on October 30th, 1834 in Crockett, Houston Co., TX.¹   Light Stapleton's father was Thomas Roderick Townsend and his mother was Nancy Permelia Dean.  His paternal grandfather was Thomas Townsend; his maternal grandparents were Jesse Dean and Mary Ann Unknown. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Morris, William Spencer, Thomas Gideon, Elizabeth B., Clementine and Carpalona Fairy.  He was the second youngest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Allen Dean, Ann Pamelia, Sophronia and Florida.  He died at the age of 93 on September 23rd, 1928 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX.  He was buried in September 1928 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX.^1 1
